Adjuma is a variety of Capsicum Chinese chili pepper. The fruits of this plant are bell shaped. This variety has red peppers but some are yellow. It is a very hot pepper that is frequently used in the Surinam and Antillean cuisine. Adjuma is one of the hottest peppers in Capsicum Chinese family but less aromatic than Madame Jeanette.
The plants can become quite tall easily growing up to 1 meter or higher. The peppers normally rate 100,000 to 350,000 SHU.
This plant is normally fairly low maintenance and is quite easy to grow, as long as a level of basic care is provided throughout the year. Being aware of the basic soil, sun and water preferences will result in a happier and healthier plant.
